More passion, backbone
Though I disagree with their conclusion, the Star-News editors posed
just the right question in their editorial endorsement of a Democratic
candidate from the 44th Assembly District.
If we believe our state and community require a smart and passionate
advocate for women, children, universal health care and housing rights,
then we must vote for Adam Murray. If, on the other hand, we believe the
important issues of the day require an old-school, semi-retired,
two-time mayor of La Ca ada Flintridge, with considerable "advisory
committee" experience, then we'll choose Anthony Portantino.
As someone who believes the Democratic Party could use more passion and
more backbone, I choose Adam Murray.
